Pocket Rocket are to pleased to offer for sale a hand selected 2009 Land Rover Defender 90 County.
Finished in deep Santorini Black with County Grey cloth and black wheels, this 2009 Land Rover Defender 90 County Station Wagon is an excellent example of the modern classic 4×4. With the ideal combination of original Defender body style with later model refinements, this example has covered 69,746 miles from new.
Powered by 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, the County model retains the locking differentials and exceptional off-road capability of original Defenders while offering increased comfort and improved driving characteristics. This car has also been upgraded with the fitment of a snorkel, full LED lighting pack, sump guard, differential guard, rock sliders, alloy wheels, tow bar, Bluetooth stereo and has the benefit of being fully poly bushed.
First registered on 9 September 2009, this example was pre-registered by supplying dealer Colliers Land Rover before being purchased by the current last owner (currently registered to my wife) and delivered on 25 January 2010 with 12 miles on the odometer. The car has been owned by the previous owner since 2020, and has been very well maintained and cared for throughout its life.
The iconic bodywork is in excellent condition and wears Santorini Black original paint, which has a high gloss and is in very good order. The photos show some common and very light scratches behind the door handles and a small blemish on the passenger door shut. The gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels, complete with Land Rover logo valve caps, are in great shape with only a small defect visible on one wheel.
Moving inside, the County Grey cloth seats are in excellent condition with ample room for four adults thanks to the stow-away rear seats. Carpets, headliner and plastics present very well. The upgraded Bluetooth head unit also features auxiliary input, USB and CD functionality.
The car has a comprehensive service history, as summarised below and shown in the photo gallery, and the previous owner had carried out oil and filter changes on the car every 5,000 miles. The most recent maintenance was carried out by Marine Garage in November 2019, comprising a full service and MOT test at 64,427 miles, with the previous owner changing the oil and filter in January 2020 at 68,500 miles. Prior to this the car was fully serviced in June 2017 by specialist Highwell Land Rovers, which features regularly in the stamped service book.
The last MOT test was on 7 November 2019 at 68,705 miles, which was a first-time pass with no defects or warnings. In fact, this Defender has passed every annual MOT on the first time, and has never had even a single advisory note. The wheels are shod in recent Cooper Discover AT3 all-terrain tyres with approximately 4mm of tread all round.
A handsome and well cared-for example of a true automotive icon, this Land Rover Defender 90 County is a charming, enjoyable and collectable car specified in a smart but discreet colour scheme and with tasteful upgrades – a fine example of what many will now call the ‘original’ Defender.
