1995 porsche 911 (993)
rs Evocation

Pocket Rocket are to pleased to offer for sale a hand selected 1995 Porsche 911 (993) RS Evocation.

This 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera RS Evocation is a superb example of the marque’s final air-cooled 911 model, which has been upgraded with genuine OEM parts to RS-style specification. It is powered by its original 3.6-litre flat-six engine, coupled to the desirable six-speed manual transmission. The odometer shows an indicated 101,879 miles from new.

An original right-hand drive example, the car was completed at the Zuffenhausen factory in 1995 with a specification that included the locking differential, automatic brake differential (ABD), cruise control and sunroof. It was delivered to and first registered in Jersey, and was later exported to the UK where it was re-registered in 1999.

This 993 coupe has been upgraded from a standard Carrera 2 to a bespoke ‘RS Evocation’ specification. Porsche Centre Reading supplied a genuine RS aero kit in 2018, which comprises the correct front splitters, rear spoiler and side skirts. Furthermore, a set of original and pristine Porsche RS Speedline split-rim light alloy wheels were sourced and fitted in spring 2019. The front and rear glass has also been replaced with RS-specification screens (receipted at £3000).

The changes are not limited to cosmetic modifications. The suspension is an adjustable Bilstein B16 PSS10 coilover set-up with Rennline top strut mounts, and is currently set at RS Club Sport ride height. It has also had an upgrade to a ‘Big Red’ brake set-up. The interior has been converted to RS-style specification using Porsche OEM parts. While it does not boast the 3.8-litre engine of a factory car, this is an homage that looks, rides and handles like a Rennsport-style 911 should.

ts Midnight Blue paintwork is in very good overall condition. There are stone chips visible around the nose and at the lower edges of the wheel arches, but the finish around the car is smooth and glossy. The rubber seals and exterior trim pieces are all present and correct, and in sound order with very little fading to speak of. There is a small patch of bubbling at the top corner of the nearside door window frame. All four alloy wheels present superbly, with no lacquer peeling or kerbing damage.

While the car was originally equipped with standard Comfort seats, it now sports RS-style bucket seats, trimmed in black leather with shaded blue centre panels, and with seat backs painted to match the body colour. The upholstery remains in very good order, with only minimal signs of wear from age and use.

The door cards have been swapped for spartan, lightweight trims with drilled metal handles and fabric door release pulls. Ahead of the driver is a deep-dish Momo Mod.07 steering wheel, while the gear knob is an original item and is in very good condition.

The rear seats have been removed and full RS carpeting has been installed. An original air-conditioning unit is present in the dashboard, but is not currently working. At the front, the boot area is trimmed in velour carpeting, and there is a battery isolator switch fitted for convenience.

Its last scheduled maintenance took place in July 2019 at Porsche specialist Wrightune in Oxfordshire, consisting of an oil and filter service and inspection. In October 2017, the clutch and the rear main oil seal were replaced during a service and check-over at Northway Porsche in Berkshire. Offside driveshaft CV joint boots were renewed at the same time. Northway Porsche also saw the car in July 2017 at 97,920 miles, when they replaced the upper and lower cam covers and gaskets, the front brake discs, and the engine lid and bonnet struts.

In 2014, the car was given a major service by Porsche Centre Reading at 90,158 miles, which included a fresh set of spark plugs, replacement of the engine and transmission oil, brake fluid renewal, along with a new fuel filter, PAS belt and four brake flexi hoses. While a stamped service book is not present, the history file contains maintenance invoices dating back to 2001.

The wheels are shod in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, in size 225/40 ZR18 at the front and 265/35 ZR18 at the rear. All four tyres are date-coded to 2017 as the year of manufacture, and they have plenty of tread remaining.

This Porsche 911 Carrera RS Evocation is a smartly-finished sports car, inspired by the rarest version of the 993 model. While it can’t claim to have the outright pace of a genuine RS, it can certainly boast the visual impact, not to mention the sharper dynamics and lightweight-style cabin. It is a fast road car presented in superb condition, ready to thrill the next owner immediately.
